ECET2NJPA stands for New Jersey and Pennsylvania Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teaching and Teachers. What it means is a deep commitment to growing, nurturing, and leveraging the abilities of each individual educator in both states. We provide a convening experience where the sole focus is on using the combined power of each invitee in the room to strengthen individual pedagogy, knowledge, relationships, and trust.
Best of all, we’re free. The logistics for each piece of this convening are paid for through a grant written to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and generous sponsorship from a number of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and national organizations. The organizations who support us in our desire to move education forward by sponsoring this event are located on our Sponsors Page.
To celebrate and elevate the many different educational leaders, there is a dedicated focus on: involving pre-service teachers in the process, inviting current and retired educators, selecting attendees who mirror the multitude of educational titles and stakeholders in both states, and an unwavering commitment to women and people of color. It is only through this belief that we all can teach, learn, and lead that will enable all of our children and their families to have success. We must first come together by modeling the way, before we can ask that of our students.
We look forward to seeing you in September. If you’re interested in attending, please nominate yourself. If you’re interested in presenting, please complete the proposal to present. If you want to be part of the action over the two-day convening but will not attend for any reason, follow our Twitter account, @ECET2NJPA and our hashtag #ecet2life. Parts of professional development sessions will be live-streamed. Links will be sent out from our Twitter handle and available on our website.
